⚈ Please be sure to provide a reachable email address. You will receive your tickets and the audio guide application link, along with all relevant information about the attractions, one day before your tour date via email.
⚈ This is not a guided tour. You’ll enter the attraction independently at your selected date and time of your booking.
⚈ When visiting the Cistern, please make sure to queue in the correct line, labeled “ONLINE TICKET QUEUE.”
⚈ The Basilica Cistern is closed to visitors between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM due to event preparations. Entry during this time requires an additional ticket.
⚈ Children under 5 years old may enter the Basilica for free with a valid ID, but must be accompanied by an adult.
⚈ For safety reasons, children under 15 are not allowed to enter without a parent or guardian.
⚈ Pets are allowed if they are carried in a secure carrying case.
⚈ A wheelchair platform lift is available at the exit of the Cistern on Alemdar Street, near the tram line.
⚈ The average visit duration is around 30–40 minutes. Visitors sensitive to high humidity or low-light environments should proceed with caution.

Luogo suggestivo, ma troppe persone contemporaneamente all'interno. Costo del biglietto alto: gli Uffizi di Firenze costano meno! Alla fine ok le cole ne è le luci, ma non c'è altro. Biglietto giusto sarebbe sui 20 euro.

I really liked it. The contrast of light was fantastic. But I think it's too expensive for what it is. The tour is short. You'll see it in 30 minutes, and it costs €52.

Having the skip the line is a must as the queue is long especially if it’s peak hour starting from 11am onwards. Nothing much to see here aside from the repurposed columns, the head of medusa, medusa herself and it was a shooting location for few movies like “Inferno” and “From Russia with love”. I don’t quite like the other decorations where they put some colourful crystal and other stuffs, they should have maintained the historical vibes in it. Price is expensive compared to other tourist places we’ve been. But still, it’s nice to see the beauty of it.

The ticket and audio guide are sent the day before by email and can thus be downloaded quietly with the hotel's wifi (practical for people without a network abroad). All that remains is to get into the queue for people with tickets and present them at the entrance. Everything happened easily and efficiently.

The tickets were sent quickly and without any problems. Unfortunately, the queue of people without an online ticket was given priority. We were there about 15 minutes before the cistern opened. So, in terms of time, it was not worth it for us to buy a more expensive online ticket.

Auf jeden Fall sehenswert, leider ging unser Barcode nicht und somit standen wir eine Stunde draußen und mussten warten bis dieses Problem gelöst war, somit hätten wir uns auch normale Eintrittskarten holen können und hätten uns jede Menge Stress und auch Zeit gespart. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hatte viel Verständnis für unser Problem und sie waren sehr bemüht uns zu helfen.

Skip the line tour is a must. The line gets crazy at this place. Such a simple thing but it is absolutely incredible to witness. Don’t miss the Basilica Cistern. Personally I don’t think you need to do a tour here as you can just walk around and see everything.

A entrada foi bastante rápida, realmente o acesso sem fila facilita bastante! A compra do ingresso também foi fácil e recebi em imediato. A cisterna basílica é um local lindo para fotos, porém acho o preço bastante alto para o que a experiência oferece. Mas valeu a pena ir, tirei ótimas fotos :)

It was good. It is not big enough to take more than 30’ visiting. We got skip the line tickets in November 2024 and it was a waste of extra money as there was no line. I would have considered skip the line tickets had I gone in the summer. But all in all, this is definitely a MUST in Istanbul.

The place is beautiful. I enjoyed the skip the line process. Your eyes have to adjust to the darkness as you approach the stairs to go downward into the cistern. However, once inside, the architecture is stunning. Great place to take photos.

Es un lugar hermoso e impresionante, lleno de historia. Sin la audioguía creo que habría perdido mucha información importante que no es evidente a simple vista, así que lo recomiendo ampliamente. Había mucha gente esperando pero al tener ya reservada la entrada pude accesar rápidamente.

The tour of the Sunken Palace was impressive, but we felt that the price-performance ratio was not justified. Unfortunately, the audio guide did not work despite having downloaded it beforehand, as there is no internet connection in the vaulted palace. Listening to it afterwards, the content was also not very spectacular. The palace itself is impressive and absolutely worth seeing. We recommend buying tickets in advance to avoid long waiting times and arriving as early as possible at opening time, as it gets very busy later on.

The basilica is definitely something to see whilst in Istanbul. the audio guide is actually on your own phone that you download, which was annoying when it keeps starting and stopping was hard to keep up with. we also paid more for skip the line, but no one was there the day we went.

Arrive early on a week day and this helps to avoid all queues. The cistern is a fantastic place to visit and I would recommend that everyone who visits Istanbul should come here. It is a very large space, however only take 30 mins to get round. The sculptures add to the ambience of the place. Make sure you download the audio guide before you enter as there’s no mobile signal once in the cistern.

An amazing place! It's quite busy in there but well worth seeing. The only downside was there is no connection in there and you must buy the ticket on the door to get the WiFi code for the audio guide. It was fine just walking around or you could maybe download the guide before going in!

A fantastic site that uncovers the hidden history beneath Istanbul - I’d recommend getting there early during the busier summer months as the queues build up quickly and there is no shade from the sun while in line. Be sure to checkout the awesome gift shop at the end for some unique items inspired by the interior of the cistern.

Don't know if it's an urban myth ? Apparently according to some www sources this (and other cisterns) were only reclaimed within the last 200 years ? Allegedly, residents would open a trap door lower a bucket and catch fish ! Don't care if it has any truth - a must see

I’ve booked the ticket 30 minutes in advance and received it within 5 minutes. The skipping saved us at least 1 hour. The cistern is definitely worth a visit. It is really impressive and the light shows are quite nice.

The fast track ticket worked very well. Unfortunately, everything was overcrowded indoors. It would be better to introduce access restrictions so that you can get more out of the visit (even though you have to wait longer)! Still highly recommended! Just don't be afraid of crowds ;)

The skip-the-line ticket allows you to avoid the queue of those who buy a ticket and there are many of them. I love this place even if it becomes too touristy and therefore too noisy. I think that by going there at the opening, we avoid the crowds and therefore we can better immerse ourselves in the place. Really worth seeing!

Although I really liked the cistern (although in my opinion the light show, if you can call it that, could be improved significantly), I think the price of EUR 34.90 is much too high. The advantage: it is a fast-track ticket and you can - as some previous speakers have already mentioned - skip the long queue and go straight into the basilica.

The main benefit of this ticket is that you can skip the often long entrance line to get in. Once inside, you can wander around in your own pace through the marvelous piece of architecture which the cisterne is. It is really crowded with tour groups and the prices are a bit expensive. The audio guide also did not work properly due to lack of internet connection inside. But especially if you are a Dan Brown movie, I would highly recommend.

It couldn't be quicker and if you have this ticket you save yourself the wait. When we visited, it wasn't clear to us at first why there was what felt like an endless line on the street. Then on the day of the basilica visit, we realized it and my wife and I were very grateful to be able to go straight into the cistern - without having to wait, which for us was 0 minutes. Top: But it can also be 5 minutes, still better than two hours.

We visited Basilica Cistern thinking that we could buy tickets at the counter. On seeing the long queues, I immediately booked through GYG and the tickets were promptly delivered on WhatsApp. There is a separate entry for Online Tickets which meant we were inside in less than a minute!

The booking ticket before going is worth it. The line to buy ticket at Cistern was long.. inside is quite peaceful. Would recommend for a quick experience, as it took 30 min to visit. Recommend downloading the audio as no wifi underground.

There were so many people queuing and we went past with our vouchers from online booking and we were in the cistern. Really great. It was very impressive to see the basilica and the play of colors was beautiful. I can only recommend it.

The cistern is very worth seeing. Everything worked fine with the entry. However, you have to start the audio guide at the top. There is no network down below and just downloading it doesn't seem to be enough.

A really great experience and definitely recommended. Skip-the-line entry is a bit misleading though, as you end up standing next to the line that doesn't have tickets. So queuing is definitely recommended!

Pros: Good experience, we didn't queue. Very quick access in less than 5 minutes. The place is very beautiful. Cons: For my part, there are a lot of people, value for money a little overrated for a visit of maximum 40 minutes.

We booked in advance and were able to skip the very long queue on the day. Highly recommend this if you are planning a visit. Beautiful place to visit albeit a bit pricy for the time you spend there.

With our ticket we were able to skip the line and were in the cistern within a few moments. It is really beautiful, with changing light and a great atmosphere. It is advisable to come early to have a little more space around you.

The booking system is brilliant. The queue was really long. Super worth it with fast track. My 87 yrs old grandma and mum who has limited mobility had helped to get up and down the stairs with the lift. Even the staff spoke limited English, their caring and support are impressive.
